Botox® Injections

Botox® is a minimally invasive way to treat lines and wrinkles around the eyes and forehead. It has been used for years to treat a variety of problems including eye deviation, eyelid spasm as well as facial spasms, migraines and paralysis. With age and gravity wrinkles and furrows develop on you face. Botox® temporarily relaxes the muscles to soften the lines of the forehead. It is temporary but does last for three to four months typically. The most common areas to treat are the deep creases found between the eyebrows, the crows feet wrinkles and forehead lines.

What to expect after the injection: Most people find that the injections cause only minor, discomfort. Immediately after the injection, there may be some redness and swelling but usually subsides in 2-24 hours. Side effects of this treatment though rare are headache, swelling, redness and flu-like symptoms. Occasionally, temporary drooping of the eyebrow or eyelid may occur. These generally occur within the first week and may last up to a few weeks but subside on there own.

Good results may be obtained after a single injection and typically last for 2 to 4 month. It is best to perform a Botox® injection every three months. It takes 2 to 4 days to see the full results of Botox®.
