Injectable poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA)

Discover Sculptra® Aesthetic, a ground-breaking anti-aging option that can give you subtle, noticeable results…without giving you away. While most injectables fill wrinkles, lines and folds, Sculptra® Aesthetic injections work gradually to replace collagen lost during the aging process. This allows your new look to emerge more gradually. While individual results may vary, Sculptra® Aesthetic can last up to 2 years.

Sculptra® Aesthetic contains poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA), which is biocompatible with humans. PCCA has been used for many years in dissolvable stitches and medical implants and has been used cosmetically in Europe since 1999.

Sculptra® Aesthetic is intended for use in people with healthy immune systems. It is a one-time regimen of three to four injections scheduled about three weeks apart. Sculptra helps correct deep nasolabial wrinkles and folds (smile lines). It is not for use in the lips.

What to expect after the injection

Most people find that the injections cause only minor discomfort. Immediately after the injection, there may be some redness and swelling but this usually subsides in 2-24 hours. Side effects of this treatment, though rare, are redness, bruising, bleeding, itching and/or swelling around the injection site, or small lumps that can be felt when pressing on the injection area.
